    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Depuis l’Antiquité et le Moyen Âge, transversalement à travers toutes les civilisations et les religions, la notion du continuum préoccupe les penseurs. Au début du XX° siècle, la théorie de la relativité a bouleversé notre vision du monde et le discours artistique.<br />
Ce bouleversement correspond aussi aux avancées technologiques et à l’épuisement du modèle romantique. C’est vers le milieu du siècle dernier que les artistes se sont emparés à leur tour de ces nouvelles notions physiques et métaphysiques pour en faire un outil de création. Iannis Xenakis donne l’exemple, en musique (structures hors-temps/en- temps, granularité du son...) comme en architecture (surfaces réglées et architecture volumétrique, polytopes...).<br />
Le continuum se trouve toujours, et plus que jamais aujourd’hui, au cœur de la pensée créatrice, donc des arts du XXI° siècle.<br />
Ce colloque international se tiendra en deux étapes distinctes : en novembre 2015 en France et en juin 2016 à Chypre.<br />
Pour cette partie en France, notre comité scientifique regroupe des représentants éminents de huit pays ; les intervenants choisis, originaires de douze pays, ouvriront assurément nos perspectives sur le sujet.<br />
La publication des actes du colloque est prévue après le second volet chypriote de 2016.]]></dcterms:description>

    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Since the Classical era and the Middle Ages, and in particular since Plato’s Timeus, the concept of continuum has preoccupied thinkers. In the early 20th century, this notion was reactivated by the theory of relativity as well as other theories such as the uncertainty principle, changing our perception of the world, and consequently artistic discourse. Even if this upheaval corresponded to technological advances on the one hand and the collapse of the romantic model on the other hand, it was only around the middle of the 20th century that artists adopted these new physical and metaphysical concepts, prompting new creative tools, especially in music and architecture.]]></dcterms:description>

Après son texte fondateur Notes vers un geste électronique (1958), ses Polytopes, grands précurseurs du New Media Art, sont la preuve de sa vision décloisonnée avant l’heure.<br />
Il se voyait comme un artisan mosaïste, nourrissant ses propres recherches de sujets aussi vastes et variés que la philosophie grecque, les mathématiques modernes, la science nucléaire, la paléontologie, etc. Bref, il menait une quête perpétuelle d’une universalité, mais fondée, guidée, orientée par et vers les formes et les architectures.     <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Exposition réalisée par les étudiants de M1 recherche en Musicologie (2021-2022) dans le cadre du séminaire de recherche de Cyrille Delhaye du 9 au 31 mai 2022 à la Maison de l’Université.<br />

Structure architecturale éphémère, spectacle de lumière et oeuvre musicale, performance artistique et poétique… difficile d’appréhender toutes les dimensions du Diatope de Iannis Xenakis, oeuvre atypique qui, de surcroît, immergeait le public en son sein. Le Diatope réunissait, dans un alliage complexe, les arts visuels et sonores avec des technologies nouvelles. Mathématique, informatique, physique, acoustique et optique y participent.<br />
<br />
Pour le centenaire de la naissance du compositeur, mathématicien et architecte, des étudiants de l’université de Rouen Normandie se sont plongés dans les archives du Centre Iannis Xenakis (CIX). Dans cette exposition, ils font revivre les facettes d’une œuvre hors normes, créée en 1978 sur la piazza Beaubourg à Paris, dans le cadre de l’inauguration du Centre Georges Pompidou.<br />

Leurs recherches ont mis au jour le parcours d’un artiste plasticien, Bruno Rastoin, qui a photographié toutes les étapes de la création du Diatope. Les images, les ébauches, les dessins et les manuscrits rassemblés ici éclairent les processus créateurs à l’origine d’une oeuvre exceptionnelle. La visée de Xenakis est cosmique, et le Diatope interroge encore aujourd’hui notre rapport au monde.<br />

Exposition produite par le Centre Iannis Xenakis avec le soutien de la Direction régionale des affaires culturelles de Normandie, avec le concours de la Direction de la Culture et du Service commun de la documentation de l’université de Rouen Normandie et avec le mécénat de la société Active Image qui met à disposition des écrans ultra-haute définition.<br />
