The missions

Following an audit by the Ministry of Culture at the end of 2006 of the CCMIX, the missions of the Iannis Xenakis Center are refocused on the safeguarding, enhancement and dissemination of the intellectual heritage of the work of Iannis Xenakis.

Thanks to a synergy of skills among the members of the CIX, several initiatives that are part of the academic calendar have been launched, such as the implementation of the analysis and inventory of the center's archive collection, the organization of international study days (The polytopes of Xenakis on December 15, 2010 and Xenakis and the arts on December 7&8, 2011), a monthly cycle of free lectures and concerts at the University of Rouen (Les Lundis Xenakis from January 2012 to the present day, see under "Activities"), or the participation of the CIX in international exhibitions and events at, for example, ZKM in Germany (March 2012 - January 2013), in Athens in 2014, in New York in 2015, etc. .

On the other side of the Atlantic, CIX's actions continue through the Xenakis Project of the Americas developed within the Barry S. Brook Center for Music and Documentation under the auspices of the Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY) http://brookcenter.gc.cuny.edu/projects/xenakis-project-of-the-americas/.
